So today I decided to listen to the external voices, I felt maybe I should; perhaps they have a point. “You should start a blog” or “write a book” the latter kills me with laughter. The way it’s loosely said, it’s like writing a book can be equated to soaking gari “tres simple”!
The blog part is what I decided to try today, I was going to signup on another site and KABOOM!! my mind goes like “this is why you can’t write a book, it’s tres simple but perhaps you are tres stupid! steemit steem the damn thing you want to blog about...ugh”
However, I don’t know what my steemit audience may like to read, second I have less than 10 followers and there will probably be no one to read :( most people will think “steemit anyway!”, well I have! :-) and I frankly don’t know what to blog about :-!
But I think there’s a point people don’t get with artists(I will talk about writers because I identify with them more) there are those things we sometimes create for ourselves and those that we need to express to others. We want it to be appreciated, loved and sometimes hated. Hated? Yes! not the piece but the content.
Some writers scribble a part of their soul every time they pen something down. Sometimes it’s all they have to offer, each pen stroke is like a stab to their very spirits. They create what is supposed to be a perfect piece in their heads and sometimes feel so embarrassed when they see how it turned out on paper.
Hah! Sometimes they read it and it seems perfect, but will have someone else read it and the writer will cringe!
Writers are associated with drug abuse and a host of other vices. Sometimes it’s the lack of sense of worth. Appreciation of the arts; poetry, drama, music, painting,shading etc. is on a general decline(Well perhaps not every kind of music and if your art creates something tangible like carvings ) and since writers attach their souls to their work, they become bitter and suck off liquor till their biles rapture leaving their liver ruined and their very lives washed away by their own fears! (Go me! :-) with the deeps)
So next time when you identify an artist ask them, “are you ready? I will love to see what you have in you but please be ready, the world won’t have it easy with you, we may not like what you bring, we don’t care if you had writer’s block, we will laugh at you or think you are extra. For us we will not know we are perpetuators of your self anhilation. I will try to criticize with caution but I am not the world so please be ready”
