Well, I really don't like harping on about the same old stuff, mostly because I believe it's about as boring to read as it would be for me to write. But hold on a sec ... Isn't a Crowdfunding Campaign precisely about harping on about the same old stuff? That's what they keep saying: one has to push on, and share the news on all social networks, and ask all friends and fans and followers to do the same. That way, hopefully, the news about the campaign will leave the closely knit circle, and make it into the realms of those who don't know anyone of us, but are fascinated by the campaign. So yeah, what's going on again?
- WHAT? Building the world's first sustainable and autonomous theater. The structure is there, we just need to finish it.
- HOW MUCH? We are trying to raise €16,000 in total, of which we have about 5% so far.
- WHEN? The campaign is up until X-mas day. We want to complete the construction in the first months of 2022.
- WHERE? In the small Mexican village of Mazunte, on the Pacific coast of Oaxaca.
- WHO? Itínera, an international group of theater artists and natural builders, representing seven different countries.
- HOW? By telling everyone AND their grandma, using a cool video and social media, and as many perks and gimmicks as we can!
- WHY? Because we feel Mazunte wants to have a theater, and they even need one. Because we are convinced that by living together with nature healthily, we can learn how to live better with each other. Because we want the building to take care of its environment and of its artists.
Artists, Festivals, Conferences, and lots of Promotional Activities
To mobilize our social networks, we started our pre-campaign two months ago, with a series of Zoom conferences called Conferences for a Better World. The first set of four were from the realm of natural building, the second set focused on performing arts and artists. Occasionally the two topics even overlapped. There is one last scheduled conference for this coming Sunday, the one we had to postpone from two weeks ago: Else Marie Laukvik from Odin Teatret in Holstebro, Denmark. Feel free to join our Zoom meeting, and get to know this famous actress, who had a huge influence on Itínera Theater, or click on the image for the facebook event page. It's scheduled to start at 10:30 a.m. Central Standard Time, which is 5:30 p.m. Central European Time.
Then, of course, we had our great launch event last Saturday, an 18-hour-long Festival of Performing Arts. It turned out to be a phenomenal success! 32 artist came from 19 different countries, providing non-stop entertainment of the most diverse kind. Staying in front of the screen for 18 hours was not easy, but it gave us more material than we could shake a stick at. Though the primary reason was to move our campaign, so we will have to come back to our many hours of recording at some later time.
Facing Challenges of Social Media
Well, as active as I am here in Hive, I've barely looked at Facebook before the campaign, other than spending maybe two times a week five minutes of scrolling through crap, as I like to call it. Other networks, such as Instagram, Twitter, or Pinterest I don't even have an account of. My friends at the association are not much better in this regard. As a result you can probably expect, we feel overwhelmed to say the least, when it comes to "boosting posts" while making sure they are clickable from both cell phones and desktop computers. Oh, and of course they need to be easy to share. Ah, and I should not forget, they have to lead everyone straight to our campaign, either directly, or via our website. These days I really feel like I should have studied social media a bit more... or at least Facebook! But that's okay, I'm sure we'll get there.
Any Donors on Hive?
So yeah... I guess Indiegogo doesn't support crypto payments. And sure, why would they? However, seeing that if you have been on this blockchain blog for more than a few months, you have probably seen your fortunes double, at least. So if you feel charitable and would like to support our sustainable theater project, I will accept your HIVE donation. In fact, I intend to make a donation of HIVE, converted to BTC, and then to EUR, which will be the equivalent of the money
all my Campaigning for Itínera posts will have earned me (50% of the sum indicated on my profile) by the end of the campaign.

If you feel like supporting our project with your HIVE, please send it to me with the word Itínera in its memo. I will make sure to take full account of it the day I make my transfer, probably toward the end of our campaign. And I can tell you right now how much we will appreciate your contribution. However, to make it more direct, we still recommend you to use the payment options of Indiegogo. That way you can qualify for any of the perks we offer. Still, if you decide to donate HIVE, there is one perk I can guarantee to all donors: Your Name on the Wall and the Huge Thank You on social media.
Look at our Video and Share It!
So now, I'm going to leave you with our campaign video. There are more puppetry things waiting to be released, but for now this is it. I hope you enjoy it, and if it animates you to want to donate, all the better. Stay tuned for more stuff, as this is what I want to focus on for the rest of the year. We have picked a flexible goal, because we have so many ways of reducing costs in any case, but should everything work out well, it will be really great. And yes, it's all thanks to you, which means our supporters! We appreciate it.
I know how it is! I worked with fundraising/crowdfunding a couple of year ago. Good luck and my full support!
Greetings from Brazil.
