Tonight, on a dense evening lacking any movement behind the dusk of 2a.m.
A customer approaches the bar. Yet to befriend the others quietly making a ruckus among themselves.
A small petite sexy blonde woman which appears to be in her early twenties asks Ronald, our bartender at Sports bars graveyard shift for a Cara-something Soda.
"That will be 5.95", Ronald said.
She pays him and goes, "I'm new in Las Vegas my name is Berlinda. I'm from New York, but I just lived in California for 2months but this is my third day in this town."
After listening to her explanation of traveling alone or at once before with a partner looking for work in all the wrong places before ending up before us.
That so, meanwhile a band from out of town is sitting beside her.
They try hitting on her with their band pickup lines.
Mind you know this band had a gig at the Gay bar located on West Charleston Road.
So she start to ask us for our names and totally ignores the bar band members.
They still kept pestering her they even had to ask us if we've heard of them. Like seriously, I don't hear of many bands unless they are freaking using the internet or have some type of music downloadable in bittorent format at least. She told them to pester off.
They are gambling their money while getting comp drinks from the bar, so she starts to play a slot machine. She asks me how to play, only 1 quarter in. We told her to hold anything higher then a Jack. Then she hits deal again by accident without holding any cards. What comes up is... a Full House.
The pay off wasn't much, but I think she felt like it was her day to gamble. She stopped play with her luck and left with some money ahead of her starting bank. On her way out she said "I''ll probally see us again eventually since I'm looking for convention work."
They all say that to us bar workers, but most of the time we never cross eye paths again.
