RE: Dwayne Johnson on Success

Consistent action over time yields prodigious results. I used to have a standup comedy teacher who said that practice will outperform talent every time.

Every time we exercise a skill or talent, we solve another little problem in doing so. At first, we're just trying to complete the task. With repetition, we solve little problems with the task, we find greater efficiencies, and we polish the process to an art over time.

That constant repetition is why consistent action over time yields prodigious results. The success stories of pop culture got there by practicing what they do on a periodic, consistent basis until they've solved most of the problems encountered with getting the job done right, so they do it very well by the time we see them on screen.

I like that idea your standup comedy teacher expressed about practice outperforming talent every time. That is pretty cool! Thank you for sharing this!

You're very welcome, Terry. I still keep that in mind each day with the habits that I have built since that time.
