Weekend Wandering 7 | Revisiting Eastwood

in #theweekend3 years ago

Our story began in Eastwood. Gladys and I had our first official friendly date in Eastwood when I sold her several copies of my book. What started as an economic transaction (lol) led to romantic affection.

She works in Eastwood, and she rents a room in an all-girls dorm in Bagumbayan. But due to the work-from-home setup, she had to go back to her family. It's practical and cost-efficient.

And after two years, our feet led us back to Eastwood!

First, we took lunch at my place. My mother prepared us Bangus steak, something I know my girlfriend loves! Lifehack: when you're sure you're going to spend hours outside, it's best to fill your tummies before leaving home. Again, practical and cost-efficient haha!

Her purpose for visiting Eastwood is for a diode laser session. Her schedule is at 5 pm but we decided to be early so we can roam around the place. There are various food stalls in the open area! I even saw a stall offering Chicken Biryani, an Indian cuisine I've been wanting to try. If only we skipped lunch at my place, for sure we'll squeeze ourselves into one of their tables. *Buti na lang! *

But since we were still hours ahead of her schedule, we decided to buy Milk Tea with RSC from Happy Lemon. Good thing they have a space where we can stay for a while. We both love its salty and creamy taste on our lips whenever we take a sip.

For the second time, we had this funny experience with Happy Lemon. I don't know if it's because of my girlfriend's soft voice that the crew can't get her name correctly, or they have a knack for misheard names, just like in Starbucks. I suppose it's the former. But because of this, I'm making it a goal to compile pictures of her with her alternate names: beginning with Alice and Claries.

When it was almost 5 pm, we headed to Skinstation. I found out that I'm not the only guy in the place accompanying their girlfriend for whatever beauty session they availed themselves of. And in a few minutes, I'll join them in the waiting game.

In fairness, it's not a drag to wait for someone when the place is very pleasant to the eyes and to the sense of smell. It's not my first time waiting inside a Skinstation boutique and I find their place relaxing. Lol parang hotel or restaurant, may review. I wasn't able to bring a book with me, so I have to depend on my ebook reader for some company.

After her treatment, we went to National Bookstore to buy some supplies. I was able to score some pens and a filing case for my teaching materials. It was already dark the beauty of cityscapes manifest during the night. When COVID is finally gone, for sure we can see this place bustling with people again.

Before finally hitting home, we took our dinner at Tokyo Tokyo with some hearty conversations on the side.

What an eventful weekend.
