Great verses.
Was there ever a point when humanity wasn’t in a perpetual state of insanity?
I guess, for some societies, that might have been the case, once. For others it is the case now. When we look at the history of some cultures, take the Dutch, for instance, there were times when they seemed to always be engaged in some confrontation or another, whereas now their society looks ideal, their political and economic system looks healthy and solid, even though they may be onvolved in pulling political and economic global strings here and there.
When I look at the history of my country, I don't think we have ever enjoy total peace and prosperity, even though we have had our moments.
It’s so hard to pay attention when they got us on the run.
We are supposed to live life with a purpose and make our lives worthy of a line in humanity records, but where do we find that purpose? What voices do we listen to? What tools do we get and from whom?

whats the point in living life blind to atrocities
I think that what the media has sold us is precisely the idea that we need to shelter ourselves from so much craziness and that's what reality shows and social networks are all about: to keep us away from ugly things we cannot control, to keep us pursuing beautiful dreams that we might never get to achieve or enjoy because that ugly reality keeps devouring our wolrd and there won't be a wolrd for those dreams to materialized, to begin with.
