Imagine a company selling a product. And they have their own data that says how great it is. Should you just trust them? Or should you do your own study or trials etc. to validate their finding?
Hmmm, I wonder... can we simply and blindly trust the data from a company about it's own product?
I think that's called a conflict of interest. It's not like that saying exists for a reason. It's not like that saying is about profit motive superseding truthful representations of something.
But let's just trust blindly what a big pharma company says about its new gene therapy technology that has never before been used on humans. And of course, trust the company that's paid out billions for fraud, corruption, bribery, and damaging products before!

The reality is that their data merely support their own revenue stream, if people merely accept what they say it does. Pfizer is a criminal organization. Big corps are that, mostly. It's organized legalized crime.
