This is my hobby contest - Things that I love the most: Nature, photography, spirituality and art

in #thisismyhobby7 years ago

First of all, I apologize for the fact that my English is not perfect, but my mother language is Hungarian and the two languages are very different. So I have to work twice on my English texts as many times English speakers can do it.

Most of us know me as a self-taught person of wide interest who is constantly searching for new ways. It seems to me those men can really evolve, whose work is also their hobby, which they can do with passion. Almost everything I like to do is rooted in my childhood because I got the first inspiration there. As a rural child, I grew up in direct contact with nature and I am still in love with it. So I became a passionate hiker, a naturalist and a photographer.

I'm an animal-lover!

In my childhood, we lived in a small village at the foot of the Mátra Mountains.I was born in Parádsasvár, there are my roots. Parádsasvár was surrounded by forests where I often escaped, and I became one with nature, playing in the everlasting present. I had no fear, I felt completely safe, just as I do now. Meanwhile, I knew many plants and animals. I pressed plants and leaves at home and put them in a booklet, and wrote their Latin names next to them.

I caught butterflies with a ring-net. I unfortunately killed them at that time because I was still ignorant. I'm not taking any plants now, except some herbs I need, and I do not hurt animals, do not disturb their calm, just shoot them with my camera. It's like hunting, with the difference that nothing will die here. My trophies are nature photographs and beautiful landscapes.

Sometimes I can join a group of hikers, but I prefer to hike alone or with my beloved partner. As I spend most of my time in Miskolc, we can roam a lot in the Bükk Mountains, mostly 15 km, but sometimes we also have 25 km to walk. We have no lack of adventures, when we find ourselves on an impassable path. And it is an unforgettable experience to sleep under the starry sky and then take photos of the rising sun.

There is another hobby attached to nature that I do on a weekly basis. It's singing, drumming and teasing. My drum was born in November 2010, since then "she" is my loyal companion on weekdays and holidays. It is made of raw moufflon leather, its voice resounds far off.

The animals are not afraid of "her" voice, they are more curious to come closer. When I drum in nature, falcons are often circling over me. We have drum circles every week when we are also singing today's songs with ancient sounds or folk songs. In such a case, there is a wonderful consistency between people. We also take part on weekly trance. Trance differs from meditation in such a way that we are not only observers, but act with the help our guardian animals and spiritual teachers. This is a way of remote healing others as well. Often, we all see the same thing with our third eye, and this is so exciting!

Art is not far from me, let it be drawing, painting or sculpture.Although I was learning to draw for a while, I am still training myself. SoulDoodle is my best art passion ever, I practise it almost every day. It is a kind of active meditation that pulls me in the present time.

Very similar to ZenTangle but it has no limits either in motifs or media. I release my imagination and my hand moves the pencil(or brush) by itself. Beautiful shapes and textures unfold in the picture, organically intertwined. Yes, there is a strong effect of nature here too! Twisting tendrils, petals, leaves, all-seeing eyes, swirling energies appear on the paper that make me very happy. I love to share them with other people, especially on Steemit! And also teach it, if a group can come together. We are just playing like children, especially when we are drawing with colorpencils in totally darkness!

Painting is my other passion. I usually use acrylic on canvas or cardboard, painting small and big mandalas or HunChakras. HunChakra is my own invention, where the chakra figures are not the same as the traditional Indian ones. I use my own motives, inspired by Hungarian folkart, and nominate the chakras with Hungarian names: Ős (ancestor), Vágy (desire), Erő (power), Szer (love), Ige (word), Lát (see), EgyŐsTen (OneGod). I sold many hunchakras so far. One of them became the possession of Andras Laar, a famous Hungarian musician and humorist. I'm very proud of it!
What do I do with my art? I very rarely do an exhibition. My exhibition room is Steemit, where I often post my art, old and new ones as well.

And I arrived to my ultimate hobby ever, which is my full-time work. Well, what is that?
Don't you know? Hahaha, it's Steemit!

I have been envolved in this community since January, 2017. I do not know why, but this was the first community where my enthusiasm has not decreased, in fact, it's growing ever since. It was hard at the beginning and I made a lot of mistakes. Now it's not easy either, because I have a lot to learn. I mainly have to develop my English skills because commenting is still difficult, and it takes a lot of time. But I know investing a lot of hard work is coming to fruition. I'm proud I can be in a great company and can see many positive and interesting people. And the best thing that we can physically meet! We had a great first meetup at the beginning of March in Budapest, and I hope it will be frequent, at least once in two months. I'm inspired every day by my steem-friends, so my enthusiasm never ends even if Steem or SBD price falls. As a young dolphin, I rather help aspiring minnows who post great original content, and continue colorchallenge hosting as well.

All the text and the photos are original content!

This is a truly beautiful post and gives us such a clean, crisp, clear sense of beautiful YOU!! And your English is FINE. Says this also non-native English speaker. Lovely images and clarity of your authorial 'voice' coming through.

Thank you for your kind words! I wrote it just some hours before the deadline. I hope many people will read it.

Szia @kalemandra! I have to agree this post was GREAT!! I really enjoyed every hobby and interest you have, you're such a bohemian and beautiful soul! This post feels like going for a long hike with you and getting to know you much better, I would also love to feel the beat of your drum circle and see what delights are drawn forth!

More than this, the art we spoke of the other day popped in my head as a facebook memory made me think of it. I wonder if I can share my poem with your art? Maybe Ican send you something as thanks.. it just seemed to connect with the words of some random words I shred 3 years ago today lol.. maybe this is our first collab together? 👍

Woohooo! It woud be a great-great idea to collaborate! You can select one or more of my artworks, then write something! By the way, there is a wonderful #collaborationartjourney hosted by @everlove, a lovely woman from the USA. I frequently used to take part on that. That challenge is just for fun, but we enjoy it. I'll inform you if the next challenge will be announced!

Excellent thanks! I'm gonna put it together at some point in my to-do lists and I'm gonna send you the SBD rewards!! Yeah I know @everlove and the gang. Will look around for comps! <3

This is a marvelous and powerful post Kalemandra ! So happy to learn about that passionate part of you ^_^ Good luck with the contest ! ;-)

Thank you my dear Barbara! These spikies are so sweet!

I would love to hear your drumming. It reminds me of a sacred moment I experienced a few years back at a local hotspring. A holy man was drumming and chanting at the pool. I was up in my cabin but heard the drumming begin. I was watching out the cabin window. A very large majestic bull elk came running from the meadow towards the pool. He stood on a knoll, where the people in the pool had no idea he was even there. He stood so regal as the drumming continued. Such a beautiful and amazing site and what a wonderful connection to the unniverse. I can see your spirit animals coming to uphold your love. Beautiful.

You have a great story! We have no giant elks, just boars, and sometimes deers. I love drumming but i haven't recorded it yet, because the microphone cannot stand low frequency voices :))) But I work on it!

This was a really great hobby post/contest entry! I feel like I know you a little better. I just want to say I have never had trouble reading or understanding your comments :) You are doing well and the hard work shows.

You have many lovely hobbies and talents and I’m glad you found your way on Steemit to share them with us! Best wishes in the contest!! I too entered this one!

Thank you, I'm so glad you like my post. Here I just gave myself. It was easy to write in Hungarian but a bit difficult in English.

Ez egy szuper összefoglaló @kalemandra! Jó sok hobbid van :-)))
A dobos kép különösen tetszik...

Something that I can be proud of, growing in rural areas with nature and animals nothing can compare to it. Now I’m living in the city but I often find ways exploring in nature and animals. Great 👍 post @kalemandra.

Rural life is the real life, not city life. I often go out from my comfort zone, or, better to say, i extend my comfort zone. For example, i only use warm water heated by solar panel for bathing. In this winter there was hardly any sunshine.

Thank you @kalemandra for sharing that beautiful publication I also love animals. Happy Start of the Week

Thank you very much!

Very beautifull & lovely
