INFORMATION ON THOMAS JEFFERSON DAILY ROUTINE
Jefferson didn’t wake up at a set time every day. Instead, he wrote that, “Whether I retire to bed early or late, I rise with the sun.” Typically, he would get out of bed whenever there was enough light for him to read the clock next to his bed.
Before breakfast, the Founding Father would tend to his correspondence.
Jefferson tended to dress simply.
Jefferson typically ate breakfast at 8:00 a.m. According to the blog Early to Rise and Colonial Williamsburg, the meal would likely include tea, hot wheat and corn bread, cold ham, butter, and “hoe cakes” — or cornmeal pancakes — and would be served in the dining room.
He is said to have had a preference for coffee, as well.
Jefferson advocated discipline and daily routines.
Dinner, the largest meal of the day, would take place around 3 p.m. J
To his daughter:
From 8 to 10 o’clock practice music.
From 10 to 1 dance one day and draw another.
From 1 to 2 draw on the day you dance, and write a letter the next day.
From 3 to 4 read French.
From 4 to 5 exercise yourself in music.
From 5 till bedtime read English, write, etc.
10 Rules for a Good Life:
- Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today.
- Never trouble another for what you can do yourself.
- Never spend your money before you have it.
- Never buy what you do not want because it is cheap; it will never be dear to you.
- Pride costs us more than hunger, thirst, and cold.
- Never repent of having eaten too little.
- Nothing is troublesome that we do willingly.
- Don’t let the evils that have never happened cost you pain.
- Always take things by their smooth handle.
- When angry, count to 10 before you speak; if very angry, count to 100.

Worked and learned new things. Bad thing was, that I had one client cancel on me and one thing went “south”, so overall not great day, however it was more or less productive day, with things done correctly on some fields.
