Does time fly on the blockchain or what? It has already been over 3 weeks since our last #zekethoughts I am fighting my way back to consistency and the simple strategy of posting once a day. Let's see how long I can keep rolling.
I hang with @wesphilbin all week long but about once in a while I pause to create a blog to discuss positive things using #thoughtfuldailypost as a tag. Positivity is best when shared and we often have to be reminded to pause and think good thoughts. Now, we have an all new vehicle in the form of @thoughtfulposts, to whom I have delegated in order to crank up this party bus!
Here are a few of the pearls of wisdom delivered to me via the social medias, with added music to enhance your experience!
Adaptive Responses?
Mona Delahooke https://monadelahooke.com/ is a Pediatric Psychologist I had never heard of before who dishes out some popular, neuroscience-based behavioural tips.
This one caught my eye primarily because I am surfing the wavy waters of daddying daughters. To think of these purposeful misbehaviors as adaptive responses really knocks me on my ass. There has to be will to fuel them but it really turns things around as I work on issues the kids are facing. It also speaks to the value of developing the skill and patience to really see things from someone else's perspective.
I imagine this as applicable to adults as well. Maturity, self awareness & wisdom settle in and life experiences can weigh heavily on older folks but we are products of our environment. Solid.
Contrasting Inventors
George Bernard Shaw https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Bernard_Shaw is an Irish playwright I had to revisit to remember having read Pygmalion in high school.
This one struck me as funny to consider the contributions of pessimists in particular. Pessimism is generally a negative mantle to wear and something I have fought against with the power of optimism in the name of progress. I read this and paused to consider pessimism as a variant of risk mitigation. Either way, the yin does balance the yang and this is a great illustration that still holds true today.
Tiny Buddha
The cool van caught my attention on this one and I only looked back up because I saw https://tinybuddha.com. My better half gets a kick out of reading this aloud to the groaning kids.
The most beautiful things are not things. That is not very metal of me to be thinking about this hippy logic! Turns out I am as Grateful Dead as I am Iron Maiden. All the stuff is great in my opinion, but only for the experiences, emotions and lifestyle they influence. The smiles and the laughter with a group of friends is not something we have had much this year. Looking back, it will be neat to see the difference in the pictures of last year, this and next in contrast. Those memories are really what makes for looking back on a good life...which is something I will hopefully not do for another 40 years or so. Til then, let's make some happiness and memories and experiences while we can!
Speaking of Iron Maiden, some classic live Where Eagles Dare is a bold tale of daring heights in life and crypto as of late.
WWZS?: Life has no shortage of hurt so there is no need to go searching for it.
This movement is gaining momentum and now is being curated by @thoughtfulposts to whom I have delegated some #hive https://hive.blog/introduceyourself/@thoughtfulposts/thoughtfulposts-introduction-or-a-thoughtfuldailypost is where you can get the details and please consider delegating to help make positivity extra rewarding.
Run To the Hills!
Love Iron Maiden, saw them a few times back in the day. Superb. Great post Zeke!
Thanks man! I have seen Iron Maiden a few times too. So much fun every time. Plus, it is really the only place you can yell MAIDEN FUCKIN RULES at the top of your lungs.
Saw em at Monsters of Rock with Kiss, David Lee Roth, Gun n Roses I think this was back in 1987. And at a few other places MAIDEN FUCKIN RULES! lol. Did you see the documentary about them flying around in Ed Force one on a world tour. Amazing, Bruce was the pilot!
Everything about them is kickass. Bruce is the man. ALMOST got to open for Paul DiAnno once back in the day.
🤘🤘
Ahhh the original frontman. Geez we is getting old haha
Great thoughts go start the day with (with the music not too loud 🌞).
Re reading, I recommend the chimp paradox. Great book about behaviour.
Thanks for the recommendation! I will have to check that out.
