Another clickbaity title in the same week?!
Nah, it's not really what you think tho, it's quite a small powerdown. Even though I wouldn't advise against liquidating some of your stake during times like these with the markets going haywire, or well, some of them at least. After about 2 years or so since my last powerdown on this account, however, this one is primarily meant to go towards buying some extra vials!
I buy some vials, I fund the development of @holozing a little extra, I earn some extra zing and potentially get some killer creatures and items to start my journey properly. Although I do have plans to also keep a majority of the vials I have and will have in the future closed. Who knows, you know? Even without a game released yet I deem holozing to be quite unique in and of itself already. The story, idea and artwork aside, the way it was funded mainly through delegations by thousands of unique accounts of all sizes. The team and founder not getting extra perks from the token but having to buy in themselves if they believed it'll go somewhere, etc, it's not something you'll see every day!
It's been quite a long journey with holozing, there's been some troubling times at one point as Hive was heading down and down and down with what seemed no end in sight. Some of our devs had quite a tab open with the project which I'm grateful for and happy that they're paid fully up to this point now due to our successful vial sale "soft" launch. I think it's important to note that I want holozing to work sort of like a DAO at some point, what I mean with this is that eventually along with everyone else who's contributed to the project I'd look to get some funding for the amount of time I've put into it, which I kinda did send myself some hive recently but ended up buying more vials again as things turned around and we're back to being in need of funding. :D Timing was a bit off there, but my point with this is that eventually - I'd also wanna look for someone to replace my own position as the organizer and lead "designer" and director of the project if you will.
I know some of my strengths but I definitely know my weaknesses as well, some days it may take me a few minutes to wrap my head around some functionalities I have designed for the game myself for instance. A lot of things are quite badly handled in terms of documentation which may confuse devs at times and waste quite some time as well. I'm hoping that with 2025 I can go back into more of a big-picture role while someone else handles the things I've been handling until now better and in turn gets paid for it in Hive.
This experience of finding freelance artists to fill certain roles here and there has been quite rough as well, a lot of trial and error but I am quite happy with some of the key members we've found. Even though they were all completely unknown they remained consistent and stuck to their roles even when payment some times was delayed or I had to try to explain to them what powerdowns are, etc. Feeling quite lucky to have found the people we've found and that hopefully they'll stick around long enough to see the game through!
Anyway, just a short post today, got some of the sample 3d creation from the new team and we're quite happy with how it turned out. The gamedev is in good contact with them as well to make sure we get them exactly as we want so they can work properly with the game and for mobile. While the creation of 3d is quite costly it also enables us to re-use these models and animations in future games we may delve into after our flagship "capture wild creatures, battle other healers, level up your professions & more" game is out and rolling.
Lastly, something I wanted to mention about the token Zing. Something you have to understand is that our focus is definitely not in seeing it "do well" in terms of price at this time, the token is mainly a way to reward contributors/crowdfunders who are turning holozing into reality at this point in time and it is quite inflationary by design. I.e. daily distribution will most likely not decrease any time soon but potentially increase as well in different ways. We have yet to discuss distribution changes that I recently mentioned, on one hand we don't want to inflate early supporters too much but on the other hand just having delegated for a little while early on and stayed staked does not help the project at this point in time that much. There are a few things we need to consider but all the different ways we have things set up have worked quite beautifully so far in making sure the project gets funding, longterm speculators are doing well in stacking zing while some short-term delegators are taking profit.
First and foremost it is a gaming token, it will be meant to be used in the game and have different use-cases in the future along with the burning of it integrated in the game - think of gaming tokens like DEC or SLP - while I'm not too sure how exactly they operate at this point in time, we will be looking to constantly balance the distribution of zing as to what is healthy for the project longterm.
There's still a lot to be done but I think that things are already looking a lot better in terms of funding the project and that hopefully we can make up for all that Hive we've spent on turning this into reality. To then also give value back to Hive in a successful gaming project that'll have a decent userbase not just on hive but outside of it as well while getting the players to be social and learning about Hive and the ecosystem here.
Thanks for reading and being part of this journey, those of you who are!
So the best way to earn Zing token is delegation right now? I am very focused on getting my Hive Power up right now, and my power is still very low, so I probably will not be delegating any this year...
hmm it kind of depends, a big account delegated recently which lowered the apr, which caused some other accounts to undelegate along with someone selling back the zing the purchased recently. According to the website the liquidity pool should still offer the highest APR. What the site doesn't show you at this point in time is the collection rewards from alpha vials.
In terms of raw numbers, daily zing going out currently is 250k to delegators, 40k to staking, 90k to vial holders, 10k to achievements, and then 20k to LP. That said we may adjust things here in a little bit so don't take these numbers for the long haul.
and no worries, focus on growing your HP for now!
Power down could be bad for someone's, but in some cases I am sure if you want to be a whale the PD is the route, maybe a lot of people will be doing this in the next year and for someone's, could be too late for the markets fasters.
Well we hope zing will be good for enjoy the new game, comming soon,
I know you will be the CEO of this big Great proyect, but you will need the know how in finance necessary to do this, fortunately hive is give us all kind of abilities, for doing things good.
haha i am really curious about those people who have so many HP if they were considering to power down especially when crypto is going crazy today.
Ah, you couldn't resist eh? I bought some more the other day too. Not as much as you, but still more than I had planned!
If the value flows from Hive to Hive-engine and vice versa then it's not a problem I guess. Because it is revolving around its own ecosystem.
Any use case or functional onboarding for hive will be a step in the right direction as far as userbase and leverage of the blockchain. I just love how the assets double duty as game enhancers and valuable tokens.
My local crypto group loved the usecase for crypto as a universal gaming currency. So many classic games you would play a game for a while, amass some levels, items, power etc and have to abandon it when you went to play another game. What a waste! Why not liquidate it into assets that freed up those resources for people still enjoying the game, and invest it into a new game?
Anyhow, excited to see this develop and looking forward to testing and playing.
I am claiming my zing tokens every day
