the hum they are accustomed to

[What belief have you challenged?]
He challenged the belief that everything is ‘okay’.
He fought against Mother Nature’s humming, the one saying “The world was meant for you, the
world is yours. You’re okay so the world will be okay.”
He challenged this belief and replaced it with:
“The world is not okay, it is sick and dying. I am not okay. I’ll be sick one day, I’ll die one day.”
Then he heard the crying of the animals and forests.
And he knew he had to try to heal the world.
But healing the world is a concept that those listening to the hum won’t understand;
the hum that says there isn’t healing that can or needs to be done.
So he tried to show the people that the world needed help.
And they didn’t listen.
They didn’t listen until his fame was worldwide.
Then and only then, people stood still and strained their ears to hear this man through the hum
that they were accustomed to.
“We have to heal the world.” His voice rang out
And in the trembling of his voice the people could hear the voices of the animals and the forests.
“Save us” They cried.
“Don’t hurt us” They whimpered.
And the hearts of the people were torn.
Then he got sick.
Then he died.
Death left the people with his name and nothing more.
And the hearts of the people were torn again.
He is dead.
Mother Nature is still humming.
The animals and forests still cry “Save us!”
And the human race still does nothing, nothing at all.
Because of the hum they are accustomed to.
