Virtues, vices, and hypocrisy - In deceit of ourselves..

in #thoughts7 years ago

Someone takes her time and writes a message, laden with, lets' say, ethical values.

You gloss over. It's too cliche. Watery, at most.

The writer publishes a book and shares on his timeline. You lather congratulations. You nail likes on the post. You don't buy. Who the heck is he?

A lady shares worthy posts on virtues and righteous living. You miff at the post and walk past. Na who holy pass?
He or she flips the script.

He writes about homosexuals in love with God. She writes about having tattoos on her butt, but still has the anointing. He writes about tithes not being what you need to access prosperity. She writes about sexual innuendos or altering gender.
You zoom into the post. You quote a thousand scriptures. You berate him or her for going against culture. You rain the thunder of God in a very hypocritical posture, albeit in defence of the God you claim to love so much. You're God's avowed defender of all things righteous.

God forbid, he uses the words "fuck", "nipples" or "pussy" in her content. He's qualified for the hanger's noose.
In less than an hour, the post garners 1000 comments.

This same writer looks at the posts of before. Very anaemic shares and scanty likes. What happened? What switch did he turn on?
At best, we are very hypocritical.

But, to shock you, the smart alecs know how to get at you.

That same virtuous thing you walk over, but have the nerve to come out to condemn the so called unrighteous with comments that are meant to rile, the smart alecs know how to tie in your smartness by packaging your pretensions into what you will later buy with your money.

Yes, they do. And would you want me to tell you how? No, I won't!
In effect, what I am saying?

In this part of the world, a lot has to be done regarding the "hidden us."
This post may come off as mystical, but dwell on it. Ponder.

The real you is splattered over all the letters of the alphabet in all the sentences.
