Same ethos here. I'm fortunate in that my Landcruiser has a good range from full, over 1300km so half a tank is still a decent distance, enough to get me into a location with few people, and the things I need should the need arise.

We had a power outage (storm-related) a couple years ago that turned off the power for 2 full days here and several days elsewhere. It was chaos for many people as you can imagine. And did they learn? Nope, no one stores emergency food or water, very few have torches and batteries (or know where they are), few have generators, communications-strategies, first aid kits or how to use them, appropriate medication...General disorganisation.

It's amazing how reliant a person has become on turning that tap and having water flow...Come see me when you've had zero water for 3 days sheeple...Let's see how chipper you're feeling at that point...If you're alive.

Thanks for responding. It's obviously a topic I'm passionate about, and is probably becoming more important, and yet so many stick their head in the sand...Just like the government want them to.
