RE: The Animal Instinct inside us can be dangerous?

Love that song - and its poignancy considering the vocalist's recent death. Same goes for the bittersweet dedication. Love ruins lives, love wrecks lives but it can make lives, too, can't it? You've just to keep rolling those dice and hope you find the happiness that everyone naturally craves.

When you brought up Eros, I remembered an essay I wrote for a nature-writing competition some twenty-or-so years ago. It was about mayflies - Ephemeroptera (from Ephemera - meaning short lived). When you think of love with a heavy heart, you could do worse than spare a thought for these creatures. Their adult lives are a single day in length. They've got to find a partner or go bust. And even if they do, it's only fleeting, isn't it?

Nature works in mysterious ways, doesn't it? And I'm guessing that 24 hours feels like a small eternity to a mayfly.

I didn't know mayflies,i found them unique!!. Thanks for the beautiful reply and your lovely words @zool237 😊

Totally forgot to mention why Eros invoked memories of that essay all those years ago - Doh! It was because I referred to them as arrows of Eros as I tried waxing lyrical. :)

Very nice!!🤗
