(Film) Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri

I went to see this yesterday, it stars Sam Rockwell who to what I believe has only ever made one bad film I've seen him in... cough "Iron Man 2". Also adding more weight the film stars Frances McDormand, Woody Harrelson and some soon to be (in my opinion) familiars, Caleb Landry Jones, Abbie Cornish and Samara Weaving.

This film had me laughing, crying and wincing. It was truly an emotionally driven film filled with back and fourth acts of violent vengeance and guilt.
It follows Frances McDormand's "Mildred Hayes" a grieving mother who is unhappy with the local police still not having found her daughters killer(s) especially in which the way she was murdered. It is a real determination of her's so she rents out three billboards with a direct message to "Will Willoughby" (Woody Harrelson) chief of police. This ruffles the feathers of the whole department and get's a lot of attention from the towns residents and the local news channel. Much to the happiness of "Mildred" this stunt has a round-a-bout way of coming back at her, especially when news spreads of personal matters going on with "Willoughby". "Mildred's" son "Robbie" (Lucas Hedges) also get's hit with the backlash by his peers at school.
This is a film very much worth watching who I see as a real contender when awards season comes around. Credit to the the writer(s) along with the rest of the characters for making the lead such a likeable stubborn no nonsense character you back all the way. I imagine a lot of actors/actresses would jump at the role but only a handful could pull it off in my opinion. So well done Frances McDormand I won't be surprised to see her as a contender when awards season comes around.
