"God is Love", but how do we define it?
Everyone of us wants to love and wants to be loved as well but what is the true meaning of Love?
American Heritage dictionary define love as,
"an intense affection for another person based on familial or personal ties".
Says that this intense affection refers to sexual attraction to other person. We can show our feelings to other persons when we were attracted or feel good to them.
The key phrase of the meaning is the " Based on" according to American Heritage dictionary, which means it is conditional, in other words, we love someone because they fulfill a condition that we require before we can love them. Our love is not only conditional, it is also mercurial. We love based on feelings and emotions that can change from one moment to the next.
God is Love: How does God Define Love?
1 John 4:8 New International Version (NIV)
8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.
This verse tells us that God is Love but what does it mean in God's point of view. Let us read the most common verse that cover-up all explanation about the Love of God.
John 3:16 New International Version (NIV)
16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
It shows in this verse of How does God show His love to all of us. This tells that one way of showing love is through the act giving. God shows His love to us by giving His only begotten Son Lord Jesus Christ who put our faith to Him alone and gives us eternal life. This is the ultimate and amazing love that no one can do.

8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
As what we notice in both verse John 3:16 and Romans 5:8 shows no condition from God, He totally gives His Son for us because of His amazing love towards us. In Romans 5:8, God wants us to know that His love is unconditional and His love for us is always existed and never ending.
The love of God is unconditional
It is not based on feelings or emotions, He did not love us because we give something to Him instead He loved us without asking for something.
