In this video presentation, Seth Rotberg, the speaker narrated to the audience his personal journey of his getting the hereditary disease from his mom.
When the neurologist told him of his being positive of “huntington disease”, or hd disease. This disease emanates so many manifestations, like severe mood swings, poor balance and movements so bad, cognitive decline like memory loss among others.
This disease has no cure, once you have the symptoms your average lifespan is 10 to 20 years. As Seth told them that his mom is slowly degenerating already. Seth was so depressed, he was in a state of denial until he was already in college that he sought his friends and he wanted to get himself busy as keep him haunting daily.
When he knows he has this disease, first he did not told it to his family but only to few of his closest friend. As years passed by, during his college he joined to so many hd organizations, but most of them assumed Seth was doing this because of his mom, because he still cannot voice out to the group that he has this disease. When Jake, one of his closest friend died he was so alarmed, then days later he lost another friend Meghan whom all of this 2 friends of him were so optimistic in life. Due to the passage of his 2 closest friend, he woke up from his long buried silence of his disease from 2 long years.. So he open up and become thinking of telling everyone of his disease.
But first, he told his dad, then his sister and everyone. He was so motivated and become so positive that after a day “ live as if you were to die tomorrow and learn as if you were to live forever”, this is the tattoo he got after liberating himself from his silence of this dreadful disease. He told the audience and told them not to hide whatever disease you will encounter, you must be open and tell it to your family, friends and be liberated. You will be inspire of the outcome, be motivated and always pray.
