I still don't get the cost of a masternode. I'd like the governance not to depend on how wealthy people are. I know some people got a masternodes cheap but they have a lot of money now. Doesn't that seem a bit similar to the banking system?

Ehh you can argue about exactly how fair the cryptocurrency space is, but I dunno I feel like comparing masternodes to the banking system is a stretch - perhaps DASH is not a perfect economic utopia but at least it's a good decentralized cryptocurrency that provides an alternative to fiat currency and truly centralized banks.
