Get your facts right first.. Islam does not order or defines a hadd (a punishment that cannot be increased or decreased without being applied), for an apostate. Those in the history killed in apostate wars have nothing to do with their apostasy but because they were a threat to the laws. There is no Sunnah or mention of Quran which says an apostate must be punished by death or apostasy is punishable by death. Please don't spread news without in-depth knowledge of a religion.

Thanks for your comment, it does seem, however, that in every opinion poll taken widely across the Islamic world, a great many Muslims freely believe Islam mandates death for apostasy. Maybe some don't but there is ample evidence that a great many do.
