There is nowhere in Quran that Moses was greatest prophet. But every Muslim believes Moses was indeed one of great prophets and Torah was word of God.
We can use simple logical approach to verify books, like take samples of Torah & Quran from different parts of the world and match with other copies to see if they are similar or not.

see sura 4:163-164. it DOES state that Moses spoke directly with Go'd. Mohamed said he spoke to angel Gibril, NOT with Allah. Moses spoke with Go'd while AWAKE, not in a dream. sura 4:163 compares Mohamed to all other prophets, not to Moses. Know your quran.
LOL
Yes dear, i have read Quran. I think you are quoting wrong.
And your god is one God. There is no deity [worthy of worship] except Him, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful. (Quran Chapter 2 Verse 163)
Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and earth, and the alternation of the night and the day, and the [great] ships which sail through the sea with that which benefits people, and what Allah has sent down from the heavens of rain, giving life thereby to the earth after its lifelessness and dispersing therein every [kind of] moving creature, and [His] directing of the winds and the clouds controlled between the heaven and the earth are signs for a people who use reason.(Quran Chapter 2, Verse 164)
But i get your point, you are right, God spoke with Prophet Moses directly, but whenever you read any book or scripture , you have to take whole meaning, not some chunks or parts of it. Maybe if you read about incident of 'Isra and Mi'raj' just for knowledge only if you can, then you would find that Prophet Muhammad went to the highest place where even Gibrael cannot reach and spoke directly with God awake
sura 4:163-164
Go to verse
4:163
Indeed, We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], as We revealed to Noah and the prophets after him. And we revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, the Descendants, Jesus, Job, Jonah, Aaron, and Solomon, and to David We gave the book [of Psalms].
4:164
And [We sent] messengers about whom We have related [their stories] to you before and messengers about whom We have not related to you. And Allah spoke to Moses with [direct] speech.
I already said about this, i get your point, but i also pointed out logical approach not always ambitious one. If you read things with context, you would eventually find the truth or maybe debunk some myth. So have you read about 'Isra and Mi'raj', which is also in Quran?
we have scrolls of Torah (five books of Moses dictated by Go'd) older than islam, which are the same as Torah we have today.
If you compare Dead Sea Scrolls (DSS), Septuagint (LXX) and Masoretic Text (MT) which are different versions of Torah, then you would find differences in each version.
our Torah (which christians call ''old'' testament) specifically Five Books of Moses, are factually the same as the Septuagint, or Codex Vaticanus, or Codex Sinaiticus, which are centuries older than quran.
Torah never changed. translations might vary in their choice of words, just as the translations of quran choose different words.
Allah made covenant with children of Israel, sura 2:40. Is there a specific covenant with children of Ishmael?
Yes, in past Allah made covenant with children of Israel. In Quran, superiority of any person or nation is only piety now. What wrong Muslims have done by believing in Torah, Injeel and also Moses, Jesus. I am assuming that you also believe that God of Jews, Christians & Muslims is One, so why can't we at-least come to the common terms.
