Step it Up – Judges 16:20
Welcome to Scriptures for Life with TorahFamily.org. Taking time to focus on the Father’s way.
Judges 16:20 - Then she called, “Samson, the Philistines are upon you!” He awoke from his sleep and thought, “I’ll go out as before and shake myself free.” But he did not know that YHWH had left him.
I believe this verse is the saddest part of this story. Why? Because he didn’t know YHWH had left him. He got up thinking nothing was different. Thinking all was well. Ready to face his day like all the others. Yet, YHWH was no longer there.
How many people are walking around today not knowing YHWH has left them? How many people has this world lulled to sleep and they don’t realize that the Spirit has left them? Waking up every morning thinking all is fine, all the while nothing could be further from the truth. All because of flirting with sin.
It’s easy to look at Samson and say “Man. You think he would have learned his lesson from the first couple of times she did this to him.” Yet, are we really any different? Can we really judge Samson knowing our failures in life? We need to step it up or we may end put just like Samson.
Let this be a focus in your time of meditation throughout the day. Until next time, Shalom.

Great devotion.
Thanks brother, I try to put a couple of these out a week. @sending-arrows have also decided to use 4 of the same tags in an effort to spread God's word!
How many are walking around in a daze, not realizing that the Holy Spirit is not present?
I think that is the scariest part, I am sure we were at one time. I like to think that because we are obeying the Father and His word that we are not walking around without it!
That hits home. Great reminder
I am glad you enjoyed this reminder, it is good for us all!
Nailed it! I'm reminded of the word "Instruction" in the Bible. In Hebrew the word "Instruction " = To-rah. YHWH's Instructions are like arrows. They shoot out and point us straight at the target (Truth). Sin is considered "lawlessness." When we sin we are missing the mark. We are choosing to walk off the narrow path, we are choosing to let our arrows miss the target. P.S. I've been resteeming your devotionals... so good!
When we throw out the law we throw out how sin is defined. Paul said in Romans 7:7 "I would not have known sin except through the law" Also thank you for resteeming these posts!
Amen! I love the Word and the power it has. Enjoy your week.
