MARGARITA ISLAND

The island of Margarita is part of the Nueva Esparta State in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and is about 35 minutes by plane from Caracas, the capital of the country. To get to the island you can take an international flight to Caracas, and from there one of the many domestic flights to Porlamar.

The island of Margarita is one of the favorite destinations of Venezuelans, especially in December, Easter and summer holidays, July and August, times in which the island has many visitors. The high seasons of international tourism are from October to March of each year.

Because Margarita is a free port, it is also visited by many tourists who come shopping from the neighboring islands in the Caribbean.




The Canaima National Park is a national park located in the Bolívar state, Venezuela. It was established on June 12, 1962 and declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco in 1994.

It extends over 30,000 km² to the border with Guyana and Brazil, because of its size it is considered the sixth largest national park in the world. About 65% of the park is occupied by rock plateaus called tepuyes. These constitute a unique biological medium, also presenting a great geological interest. Its steep cliffs and its waterfalls (including Angel Falls, which is the highest waterfall in the world, at 1283 m)

The Angel Falls is 15 times larger than Niagara Falls, with a difference of approximately 52 meters.
