National Park Canaima (Bolivar State - Venezuela).

in #tourism7 years ago

The Canaima National Park is the second largest national park in Venezuela and one of the most famous in the country and the world, since there is the largest known waterfall: Angel Falls, with its almost 1000 meters high. The excursions to the eastern part of the park are memorable and relatively easy to make, since there is a paved road that crosses the park from Puerto Ordaz to Santa Elena de Uairen.

In the Canaima National Park, is where the famous tepuyes are found, those mountains with flat peaks, which appear majestically on the horizon, and which offer some truly unique ecosystems, due to the isolation that their greater height produces with the rest of the savanna . In these summits the climate is much colder and more humid because the clouds accumulate on them and produce a special microclimate, relatively cool when covered, but with a strong insolation when exposed to the sun. This makes its climate is, in a way, comparable to that of the Andean páramos.

Perhaps one of the things that stands out in this park are its rivers and waterfalls, such as the Aponguao and the Kamarata. Some of the areas of the park are only accessible by air, by plane, or by canoeing along interesting rivers.

We have abundant tourist information and photos about Canaima, and La Gran Sabana.
