How E-Sports Should Work For Splinterlands

in #tourney2 years ago

Having a Competitive Driven E-Sports Scene is Critical to making splinter lands a Sucess, As a former Pro level Hearthstone and MTG player here is a Structure I feel would work best for Splinterlands in creating that feeling that with some good luck and strategic play anyone could go from their current league to World champion.

RoadMap - Qualifers ----> Monthly Championships --- World ChampionShips

Qualifers- Qualifier Events need to offer the infinite loop ( If your are good enough ) , This system tells players as long as you can end in the top 3 more often than they end in the bottom 5 you can play forever and keep raking in rewards even if you never get enough points to qualify for the Monthly Championship

8 Person Events – Fire When full – Championship Sit and Go Trials
Double Elimination Best of 3 Bracket ( 2 loses to be knocked out )

LeagueEntry Fee1st2nd3rdPrize Pool
Silver100 Dec400 Dec +3 Trophies200 Dec +2 Trophies150 Dec +1 Trophie50Dec
Gold500 Dec2000 Dec +3 Trophies1000 Dec +2 Trophies750 Dec +1 Trophie250Dec
Diamond +1000 Dec4000 Dec +3 Trophies2000 Dec +2 Trophies1500 Dec +1 Trophie500Dec

Functionality- Each Sit and go pays out Most of the entry fee but a small % is added to a jackpot prize pool that will continue to Grow. Ideally, this would be displayed like a Jackpot on a slot machine increasing the urge to play.

Entry Requirements – NONE , you pay the fee you play with that level of Cards that’s it. Players of higher level are handicaped down to the card limits for each tier. Your allowed to play whatever you want.

KYC Required – E-sports are for Human players only would require KYC and verification of no botting to enter.

End of Monthly Championship Tourneys- The top 16 Trophy Holders for Each month ( Reset Monthly) would be invited to a Tourney where the Prize Pool would be awarded to the top 4 Players.

Creation of 39 Unique Titles to Be held by Splinterlands and Delegated to the Champion Along with 39 Lands to be delegated for being a champion ( Ideally these lands would increase from Silver / Gold to diamond and the world champion for each year should get to hold a castle for a one year )

Titles – Created and held by splinter lands and delegated to players
January Silver Champion
January Gold Chamion
January Diamond Champion
World Champion Silver

**Community Sponsored E-sports Prize Pools **– What makes this work is the tourney self-funded. Splinterlands or the DAO could set starting points but the idea is hopefully the constant playing and fighting for points would cause the championship itself to rise higher and higher. (This has worked well for other games in the past. But in splinterlands that means this system isn't a draw on the resources of the game.

New Mode of Play- Creates a new controlled method of a way for people to interact with the game. Gives them a reason to stay logged in and play even after completing their daily quests or when ECR is very low without requiring the game to give out any more resources.

Tried Structure – Creates an incentive to play at higher tiers. The tier structure should make the Higher leagues have larger prize pools for the end-of-season championship. This should cause a desire for people to improve their cards to compete rather than just grinding out quests. Plus large prize pools may encourage people to press for higher levels.
