Pantai lampuuk merupakan primadona wisata aceh sebelum aceh melanda tsunami pada 2004 silam, pantai ini selalu ramai di kunjungi dari berbagai daerah, dengan pasir putih dan pohon pinus yang rindang, tempat ini menjadi tempat paling ideal untuk melepaskan kepenatan.
Akan tetapi, pantai ini secara berangsur pantai ini pulih kembali kurang dari lebih setahun setelah tsunami.
Aktifitas parawisata di pantai ini pun kembali ramai, dari proses rehabilitas dan rekonstruksi pasca tsunami. Pengelolaan pantai lampuuk diintegrasikan dengan beberapa objek wisata lainnya seperti laut tawar dataran tinggi takengon aceh tengah, dan pulau weh sabang.
Hal inilah pengaruh positif terhadap upaya mengembalikan primadona wisata aceh,tidak hanya wisata lokal, tapi bahkan wisatawan asing yang singgah untuk berwisata di pantai lampuuk banda aceh ( aceh besar ) .
Terutama selancar, yang mendongkrak popularitas pantai ini, wisata lampuuk bisa dikatakan sudah pulih dari seperti sebelum tsunami.
Pantai ini memiliki fasilitas untuk parawisata seperti banana boat, dan untuk bermalam mereka menyediakan penginapan kelas losmen hingga cottage yang harganya variatif sesuai pelayanan yang diinginkan, yang berada di pinggir tebing wisata pantai lampuuk.
