The concept of low cost share dealing from your phone is great to potentially educate more people on investing with low costs and also low risk. There are no minimum investments so a user could build a portfolio with 5 x £5 and have exposure to their 5 favourite companies and add as they wish.
Robinhood has just gained a lot of press due to offering Bitcoin and Ethereum trading but it's not looking like it'll be available in the UK for a while, but Freetrade are shortly releasing a similar service via an app with no fees and no minimum trades. There is some mention of cryptocurrencies but no firm update on whether crypto trading will be available straight away.
I'm looking forward to having a play with Freetrade when it's released and I think it's great to make investing available and accessible to those who are often put off by prohibitive terms and over complicated funding process.
