Nigeria stocks lower at close of trade; NSE 30 down 1.39%

Investing.com – Nigeria stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Banking, Food, Beverages & Tobacco and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 lost 1.39%.
The best performers of the session on the NSE 30 were Skye Bank (LAGOS:SKYEBAN), which rose 4.76% or 0.030 points to trade at 0.660 at the close. Meanwhile, Total Nig (LAGOS:TOTAL) added 2.26% or 6.00 points to end at 272.00 and Nestle Nig (LAGOS:NESTLE) was up 0.00% or 0.04 points to 901.04 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Unilever Nig (LAGOS:UNILEVE), which fell 9.74% or 3.59 points to trade at 33.28 at the close. Wapco (LAGOS:WAPCO) declined 5.00% or 2.50 points to end at 47.50 and Guiness Nig (LAGOS:GUINNES) was down 4.99% or 3.39 points to 64.57.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lagos by 58 to 30 and 30 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.02% or 0.01 to $47.08 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $49.68 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.41% or 5.03 to trade at $1224.23 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was down 0.37% to 357.290, while USD/NGN fell 10.07% to 314.750.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 95.99.
