Very low trading volume on internal STEEM exchange

$92.53

Last price $0.299857 (-10.90%)
24h volume $92.53
Bid $0.300020
Ask $0.316373
Spread 5.306%

This means that only 90 SBD changed hands during last 24 hours.

The internal exchange is much cheaper and faster than any external exchanges.

Is this the record low level? Does anyone use the internal exchange? Why the liquidity is so low there taking into account amount of liquid STEEM and SBD in circulation?

Sort:

Some level of liquidity rewards would greatly improve use of the internal exchange.

Thanks for the comment. Liquidity rewards were available here before I joined and I dug up that a few guys did nice profits out of it, probably that's why it was disabled. https://steemit.com/steem/@blakemiles84/two-users-are-gaming-the-liquidity-reward-system-and-earning-1200-steem-per-hour
I wonder if it is turned on in Golos...

Ok, I start to see patterns, today it is :

Last price $0.289977 (+3.57%)
24h volume $58.08
Bid $0.263064
Ask $0.289970
Spread 9.730%

Lowest value is around lunchtime Europe time, and trading volume increases around 23:00-24:00 (Berlin time) which I believe is afternoon/evening USA time.

And another thing: there is very little buying power from SBD to STEEM, mostly people convert curation SBD to STEEM ~0.5-2SBD

This was also my first thought. But perhaps it is the other way round: the price is not yet low enough to buy STEEM?
