@tradewonk, In my opinion for sure it's not sounding fair because for sure it's giving the sense of Inorganic Votes and still the actual review is pending, so let's hope that Steem will be announced as winner. But one thing was beneficial through this contest and that is, the Community came together to vote for the Steem and also boosted the Engagement Levels.

Let's be real, this was a complete joke, as is ALOT of these types of contests. No way INS came back and won without cheating and I am sure they go many of them to use multiple email addressess and confirmations to do this.
That is why many of the projects like this a complete bullshit and should be verified with sending a text message from a mobile phone or something other way. It is more of a pain in he ass to get mobile numbers than it is to make different hotmail accounts

I have been following the contest ever since I saw the first post by @oracle-d.
Apart from promoting and voting, I have been keeping some notes of numbers in different times of day, since yesterday 15:16 (Greek Time)
INS was slowly getting votes (7.377 at 15:16 ... 9.633 at 23:40) always remaining at the 3rd place.
I was also curious to see how this happened and I saw this
So apparently, that post was boosted. (Nothing wrong with it, really!)
Stemit and Ned himself on twitter did post about it, but on the 18th and 19th of October.. Not since then. The boost + extra visibility would be necessary for the ending day.
I also noticed that no post was done on steemit's facebook page about the contest.
I believe that all communities on steemit & discord did their best into promoting it. But the official Steemit could do more about it.
In any case, all we can do now is to wait for the official announcement votes count (it is a bit fishy to see the outsider getting so many upvotes and so quickly)
totally agree. Steemit inc did almost nothing. Verge have 305k twitter followers...we hear nothingbfrom Steem for 3 days

Why it has to be promoted on FB or even twitter, as we have the best social network. The other coins have to use them as they dont have their own network

It's impressive, I'm shocked because I still don't believe... I also realized that the INS votes were going up exaggeratedly in a matter of minutes! I still can't believe it!

Don't know how, it is a free vote system, and we have less than 24 minutes to get as many Steemians to vote as possible.
Netcoins has already removed thousands of votes from verge and pac. I hope they will do the same with INS

We can win by netcoins removing INS fake votes, as they did with VERGE.
Then it can be possible that STEEM won this contest.

I learnt "INS EFFECT" would be taught at Hogwarts soon.
I am trying to be a good loser but it is hard. That INS coin (idea) is better than many others though so that helps.
I find it hard to believe a social media site lost in such manner in the last hour. I do hope Steem comes out on top after votes are reviewed.
