This would be option 1 to get whitelisted:
Option 1: "I post my own content in multiple places."
Applicable rules:
1 - Only cross-post new articles (not repost old stuff). It must be within the same day -- preferrably the same hour. Reposting old articles that are not significantly adapted for Steemit disqualifies you.
2 - In each Steemit post, include a visible link in the post to the original content on your website. If "adapted for Steemit", which means a significant effort was made to edit or re-write the content for the new audience, also include the date and location of original publication. e.g.: "This content was originally posted to our website at xyz.org/thecontent, on 2018/12/01."
3 - Make sure your website article also visibly links to the posted Steemit article or your username blog. e.g: "Find our blog on Steemit, here: steemit.com/@name"
4 - ONLY CREATE A WHITELIST REQUEST IF YOU ARE FOLLOWING THE ABOVE RULES, AND STILL GET CHEETAH VISISTS. There is a good chance you will NOT need whitelisting if you are following the above rules.
To make the whitelist request write us in the Discord channel
Thank you for the clarification. I'll absolutely follow these rules from now on!
Also, other than post a link to the original source, and post a "follow me on Steemit" option on the original source, is there any addition thing I need to do to resolve this mistake?
Just follow exactly these rules. Then cheetah should not appear. But if it still does contact us on our Discord.
