Life itself is valuation and contention over values. Might and force cannot logically exclude violence. It seems to me that in this quote Gandhi advocates an alternative method for struggle - a surreptitious, more feminine form of violence.

Mahathma Gandhi - The father of our Nation (INDIA). His real name is Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. Mahatma (A sankrit word which means a "high-souled" and "venerable" ) is a honorific name given to him in 1914 in South Africa which is now used worldwide. Patriotism. Thanks for sharing.
