vlog #1 | TIRANA TO PODGORICA TRIP BY BUS

in #travel7 years ago

Albania to Montenegro travel is usually by road. because there is no direct flight. Tirana the capital of Albania has some 160KM distance from Podgorica the capital of Montenegro. I was in Albania recently, and I did this road trip which was a good adventure as always. I love traveling by road especially when border crossing is involved.

Bus Station & Ticket in Tirana

The main bus station is located in City Center Tirana which is not difficult to reach. bust leaves to Podgorica three times every day i.e 6:00am, 9:15am and 9PM. you can buy the ticket from office # 6 at the bus station. the ticket cost 2200 LEK which is equal to $20 as of January 2018. try to come 10 minutes early so you can easily catch your bus.

You can buy the ticket in advance, and also on the spot before departure time. I bought the ticket just 10 minutes before departure. the bus was almost empty when we started the journey from Tirana.

Tirana to Podgorica Road Trip

it takes exactly 5 hours from Tirana to Podgorica which includes time spent at the immigration on Albania-Montenegro border. the bus will have a few stops in Albania, but it’ll not have a stop in Montenegro, because after crossing the border, there will be 40 minutes more journey to Podgorica.

This road trip was enjoyable, because it was short. I did a road trip from Skopje to Tirana which was a little bit exhausting at the end due to long road trip and mountainous range. However, Tirana to Podgorica is a short 5 hours journey and you’ll see lush green places in both countries. there is a beautiful lake on the Albanian-Montenegrin border which has amazing views.
