What is the Robot Restaurant?
The robot restaurant is a robot themed cabaret and restaurant. You will see some very energetic young Japanese artists performing a lights, dance and singing show for an audience of around 100 people. The show goes for around 2 hours and I suspect there's not much like this anywhere else in the world.

Video of the entrance... how could someone resist coming in here?

Where can I find the restaurant and what's the damage?
The restaurant is located in the center of the nightlife district of Shibuya, Tokyo. At this time of writing we paid 7000 yen each, about $50 USD. For a little extra you can eat dinner prior to the show. The standard ticket price also includes one drink, you can get a beer or a spirit, I personally settled on a gin and tonic. You will also receive a bucket of popcorn.

What to expect at the show?
Imagine you are watching Mad Max - Fury Road, a Mecha Anime (Neon Genesis maybe) and Tron, all at once in 3D. This would accurately describe the Robot Restaurant show.
I saw this on the x-factor once as the Tron dance and now I know where it comes from.
Overall rating?
Honestly I give this 4.5 stars. 5 stars if you have a fetish for Japanese culture. It was a professional show unlike any single thing I've ever really seen before. Keep in mind that the music was very catchy so you might have some of the songs ringing in your head for a few days after.

I am visiting Tokyo with my girlfriend early next year.
Going to try and convince her to go this robot restaurant with me!
You would be crazy not to go :) albeit it's a bit pricey, not much more than the cinema back home though.
Damn, this looks like a funky place to go but seems not all in the audience was excited about being there.
Some people are just shy :)
oh well. their loss😎

I like this restaurant.
Must have been a very entertaining evening. Reminds me a little of our own carnival we have in the Netherlands, but then more technology!

I live in Tokyo but never been there. Need to go there now.
It looks like so much fun. Love all the colors.
It is like a mixture of interesting and amazing resto :)

Thanks for sharing this video! I've spent over a year and a half in Japan in total but never managed to make it to the robot restaurant, so this is perfect to know what it's like inside. Such craziness only the Japanese know. I'll have to visit next time I'm back.
I've actually just started to post on my travel experiences starting out with Japan. Feel free to check out my first travel/photography post if you are interested :)
