Hello everybody!! It has been ages since my last update here but I am back from the short trip to Pokhara that I had mentioned in one of my earlier posts and as promised, with loads of pictures too! The past couple of days have been some of the best ones of this year. Let me tell you why..
It was truly an adventure trip which was unique in it's own way as I had never done such activities back to back!
I will be slowly sharing the pictures in a few parts as it is almost impossible to cover everything in one go. Today I am going to share some from the road. This was from my hometown, Kathmandu to Pokhara itself. So, we started off around 11:45 in the chilly morning of 1st March and had already booked a car in advance. I along with my brother @sauravrungta and my parents were thrilled for this trip since a long time because of the activities waiting for us there :D
This was the route to be taken which we covered in about 5 hours because of terrible roads in the initial phase of the journey. The roads in Kathmandu are pretty difficult to travel on as there is an incredible amount of dust because of low maintenance. But nevertheless, once we were in the outskirts it got better and better.
But first! Let me take a selfie :P
We saw a couple of rafters in the Trishuli river while driving. Rafting on trishuli is considered extremely tough, especially in the rainy season. Hope to raft here someday :)
After this we crossed the Dangdung bridge, which had a beautiful view of the greenish river.
Here is a small video of the curvy ways of the beautiful mountains. It was like a smooth rollercoaster! The views were ever changing as we crossed several mountains and plains. The weather got warmer and halfway through our journey, it started getting cloudy and windy.
And my favourite ring is back!
Doesn't this look godly??
It slowly started to rain as we were on the outer region of Pokhara and the temperature also started to drop a little.
Okay, so this is where I almost screamed. WHY? Because it was Mt. Machapuchare! This photo is no justice to what we witnessed that time. It was thundering and raining and in the middle of this, we saw the giant peak of the mountain shimmering from the lighting. We couldn't help but stop the car and gawk at this beauty. It was as if we could feel the wrath of mother nature at the same time.
We reached the Milarepa Hotel, which was situated at the lakeside. I loved how the flags were moving because of the wind :)
While I was occupied taking snaps, my father called out to me and showed me THIS. (Which blew my mind into pieces!)
I had only heard of a flight tour to Everest and had absolutely no idea that it is also possible from a helicopter! It is known as "POKHARAHELI." Plus they also have tours for the entire Annapurna range. As you can see there are many flights that you can take to different parts of the country and some crossing borders to the northern parts of India. This is on my bucket list for sure :D
Due to some reasons we had to change our hotel for a day but it was literally infront of this one which saved us the hassle of moving around too much.
As soon as we freshened up, we got out to see the beautiful lakeside view. The wide footpaths were one of the few reasons that I had loved this place in my previous visits as well. We got some food and started strolling around the city as it got darker.
This post will be continued in the next one as this one has already stretched way too much! 😅 But I promise it only gets interesting from here ;) Hope you guys enjoyed this.
