Nasi Lemak, Fragrant Rice Dish

in #travel7 years ago

If you come to Malaysia, this is one meal you must have, Nasi Lemak. It is considered a national dish, so if you miss this you travel is not complete.

Nasi lemak is a Malay fragrant rice dish cooked in coconut milk and pandan leaf. Nasi lemak is often served for breakfast. However, because nasi lemak can be served in a variety of ways, it is often eaten throughout the day.

Nasi lemak comes in many variations as they are prepared by different chef and cultures. And I personally like the most simple nasi lemak, wrap in banana leaf.

You can easily find this style of nasi lemak in the morning, where people on the way to work will grab a pack on the way to the office.

If made of white rice, cooked with coconut milk and pandan leaf. Then top with a spicy chilli sambal and a boil or fried egg. The pandan leaf and banana leaf give its a special aroma to it.

So if you're in Malaysia don't forget to try it. Its cheap, comforting and easy snack.
