Returning Home, Day 3: Montana to Oregon

in #travel6 years ago (edited)

This leg of the trip is by far the most driving I've ever done in one day. It's just barely within reach if I drive until a little after midnight and I want to avoid the expense of another night in a hotel.

When I stopped to eat earlier, I saw this weird green and yellow building. I still have no idea what it was for. Theater? Water tower? Spiderclown containment? The mystery deepens.

Kittor slept through it all, little feets extended out of the carrier. She knows how to relax, that's something cats are experts at. She's really being a sport about this whole thing.

Anyway unless I get too tired to finish the trip tonight, this should be the last entry. I'm making much better time on the return trip mostly because I actually managed to set off around 8-9am every day whereas on the first day of the initial trip, I left at around 2pm IIRC and stopped just short of the lake on the last day.

It's been an exhausting journey, but the vacation was really rejuvenating and badly needed. Thanks for following along!

Stay Cozy!

It looks like a nice sunset and I think that building is a water tower! I think you spent a good vacation and yeah I hate to drive continuously 3 days to coming back to the normal life style! Drive safe!@alexbeyman,

Cheers~

Very interesting shots, generate a lot of curiosity around them.

"[U]nless I get too tired to finish the trip tonight," I have done that. I had to stop and sleep in an empty parking lot expecting to wake up before the business opened. When I woke up, I was surrounded and being stared at by a bunch of church people who were going to eat a Sunday breakfast buffet at the restaurant that I was parked in front of lol.

It's good to get out and see the real America, Montana is the real America for sure

That's some amazing place to drive through!

Kittor looks very comfortable, this trip has not been exhausting for her. If she knows how to rest, she's so beautiful!

Good to know you're about to arrive at your destination, @alexbeyman. Today I managed to see this publication because I stayed awake a little longer reading. I hope you can rest as much or more than your cat. I imagine that tomorrow you will tell us how your arrival was or you will begin another journey, no longer physical, but spiritual, through your letters. It's already midnight in my country! See you tomorrow

Well now I want to know what that building is for.

I know it’s exhausting. She is sooo cute. She doesn’t complain. There was one trip I took with car when I moved from Tennessee to NY. I took a pill to keep me awake and believe it or not, I drove it all the way with just a few stops to eat or relieve myself. I remember, I drove about 18 hours that day all stops included. Pill helped I guess.

Welcome back Alex, and glad the vacay was rejuvenating

Am wishing you safe journey bro, concerning the cats, I think it's worldwide, cats here too sleeps all day, only gets up when they see rats.
Drive safely.

About that building, it's actually a water tower, check, the second yellow pillar from the left has a knob to it, that thing looks like something to attach a hole to it for water outlet.

A lot of caution when handling fatigue can play a trick, it is better to slow down and not let fatigue win you.

I think it's a water tower? A very decorative one at that. My longest driving shift ended in your state once when I was heading to Mount Hood with my ex, she had fallen asleep in one state or another and I just kept on going, pulling into Government Camp after 26 hours straight behind the wheel. I'm not sure how I did it(insomnia helps), but yeah, that was rough.

I'm glad you relaxed and with new strength from here on.
I think this is a water tower.
