Hello friends!
Yesterday I went on a long awaited hike to the top of Lyulin mountain. I'm looking at it all the time, but I have never been there.
Autumn colors! Looking at Lyulin mountains
Dupevitsa Peak (1,256 m) is the highest point on this mountain.
It should be a quick hike, although I thought it would be quicker, there were several new pathways that had to be explored!
There is a tower on the top, I was wondering what else is there.
Turns out it was some kind of military base, now abandoned, and only the tower is maintained with all kinds of antennas!
Entrance gate
I like to explore abandoned buildings and try to picture it 50 or 100 years back when it was thriving with life, but in this case as I see no point in military at all (there are no enemies), it was quite sad to picture some young men counting days just to be free again.
УВО 96 means discharged in 1996.
Also means that it was functioning back in 1996, back then it was "mandatory" for all boys to go for basic military training for few years.
A total waste of time! The main objective is to train these men to be obedient to a chain of command and obey a system they don't even know yet is against them.
Garages, probably
I dont even know! It was just a conrete tube in the ground with a stool on the other end and a small vent
This one had some floors underground, which got me curious, maybe it could be a bunker
could be drainage or storage shaft
That flag was so ironic, old and poor but bravely waving!
Flags are too political for me, I do not belong to any flag or boarder, the goal of politics is to separate people.
Boarders are just made up to create The illusion of division, and to sell you back the right to travel freely
Here is some views from the top of Lyulin mountain:
Looking East at Vitosha mountain, Vladaya and Murchaevo villages
Looking North at Sofia city! Vitosha mountain is on the right
on the way back
End the day with a soup, and its all good
Thank you for checking out my blog!
