After years of wanting to move to New Zealand permanently..i met someone from Somoa. It was quite the eye opener when she explained the life on the island. The island sounds just like the movie The Beach with Leonardo DiCaprio if you have ever watched it.
All they do is eat, go to church and celebrate life.
Doesn't sound all that bad to me..except that everything is very slow pace. People move slow, talk slow..no urgency and as much as that might sound nice to others, it sounds like a big adjustment to someone born and currently living in the city.
New Zealand on the other hand has more of a city like life, there is Auckland and grocery stores, theatres and restaurants. The life i am used to living.
It does cost more to live and purchase a place in New Zealand than it does in Somoa. But the living in Samoa would be wonderful. You can fish and pick fruits and basically live off that for the whole day and not go to work. Lounge on the beach, go to the village or just roast food/veggies.
I think I'll have to visit both to determine my decision to move out of Canada and go there.
What are your thoughts?
If you come to NZ, don't just consider Auckland. It's jam packed with way too many people. Take a while to get to know the personalities of the different areas. I of course think Wellington is best ;-)
You are awesome! I'm definitely going to see Wellington. I've heard great things about that area!
