Meseta de Merida (1).JPG

This is my beautiful city of Merida, founded by the Spanish Juan Rodriguez Suares, on October 9, 1558. It is known as the city of the Knights. It is the highest city in all Venezuela (1650 masl), and belongs to the Merida state.

This photograph was taken from the first station of the Merida Mukumbari (Highest and longest in the world). Where you can see a panoramic view of the southern part of the city. We can see, as the city is settled on a huge plateau, delimited by strong fault cliffs and originated by the Chama River. And it is surrounded by mountains, everywhere. On the south flank, the Sierra Nevada de Merida (from where you take the picture) and on the north flank by the Sierra de La Culata (In the background)

The photograph was taken at about 2436 meters above sea level, the city is about 1650 meters above sea level.
