Never did we know that in this part of Surigao del Sur, a hidden fish cage resort lies. Just about 30 minutes boat ride from Enchanted River, the Sibadan Fish Cage is located. The resort is not as great as any other resorts when it comes to its cottages. The rooms are just plain wooded with no special amnesties like pool. The place looks like any normal house that is built in the sea. Hence, the place is comforting and it’s affordable for only 300 pesos per room. Unfortunately I was not able to take photos of the entire place as I got so excited to jump in the cage. hihi
Getting There
The only way of transport in getting to the place is via boat from Enchanted River, Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur. Worry not as the boat rental is affordable especially if you are with a group. So, each boat ride costs 500 pesos for 5 people and 1 child. That would be 3 hours rental and you can also request to the boat operator to stop by to other islands that you wish to go. There is an entrance fee of 20 pesos per person but that’s okay as the children are free.
Things to Do
In here, you can catch the fishes that’s inside the huge cage and have it cooked by the restaurant worker of the place. But if you have brought your food with you, there’s no need to worry as you can have it in the place freely. Like any other people who visited the place, we indulged ourselves swimming in the cage.
The cages have different kinds of big fishes, stingrays and small sharks. If you are brave enough, you can dive into the sharks’ cage freely. I have seen 5 brave young men who jumped in the cage and swam fast to get their body out of the water. LOLS. For those who do not know how to swim like me, you can borrow the lifejackets from the boat you rented so you can enjoy swimming.
No Dull Moment
Swimming with the big fishes are quite scary but being tracked by 2 big sting rays and 1 shark are much scarier. LOLS. My two brothers are kept on saying to me that they really enjoyed our visit to this place. Jumping and swimming in the cage is thrilling and a great enjoyment. And there’s no doubt that we’ll be back again to this place next year. And at that time, I might jump into the shark’s cage once they’re bigger. LOLS.
