Carles, Iloilo has some of the most beautiful and unique islands in the Philippines. It has a dozen of islands. The best place for beach holiday away from the crowds. It is well-known for its unspoiled scenery and pristine white beaches.
Summer is about to come. And I gonna share something about my experience about 2 years ago. It was May and my birthday month. When we decided to have a trip at the beach.
Me and my co leagues decided to go to Ilo-Ilo in Carles Island. We travel by land from Kalibo, Aklan to Roxas City via Van. It’s about 1 hour and 30 minutes going to Roxas City. When we arrive in the terminal of Roxas City we tranfer to another Non-aircon Van going to Estancia Ilo-ilo then ride in a tricycle going to Estancia port and a motorized boat from Bangkal Fishing Port in the mainland.
Why it about 2 hours to reach the island because the boat has a lot of cargo from the city. They have a lot of products like soft drinks, Vegetables, Canned Goods and other basic commodities.
When we are in the boat we meet this old woman from Estancia Iloilo who is very jolly and talkative. Our 2 hours travel is not boring because her. She tells a lot of stories. It when the typhoon Frank devastated the Visayas Region year 2009. The Island Carles washed out and a lot of people died that time. His son is in Carles Island during that time. His son survived because he climb it a highest part of the island. That was really tragic. Thanks God that his son survived. Then after that sad story she talks about funny things already and funny jokes that’s why we really enjoy the trip going to Carles Island. Not knowing that were there already.
Touch down! Where in the Island! :)
After a long travel. We stay in this cute cottage. Knowing that Enchong Dee stay there when he also visited the Island and where just crazy imagining Enching Dee stays there.
And beside our cute cottage is a small garden with this cute little flowers.
Heading to the Island of ANTONIA ISLAND it is a private-owned island. The beauty of this small island is enormous. This island is one of the few inslands in Carles. It is uninhabited that’s why a lot of beach lover and backpackers find it hard to leave. It just a destination or part of Island Hopping visiting this island.
Our tour guide who is very nice and a lot to say about Carles Island and its history.
Next stop is the TANGKE. It is the hidden saltwater lagoon formed and surrounded by wall of granite. The water rises when high tide and in low tide the water recedes. Lagoon has a rocky wall that serves as lagoons fortress and one of a kind formation. It has a deep blue water, vertical cliffs and a large caverns awaiting to those who snorkeling, this is the best destination.
Lunch time!I mean done with the lunch :D
Carles is known of their scallops definitely it comes aplenty and a morning dive by a fisherman can easily harvest hordes of them. And the shells of this tasty oyster-like seafood are shape.
Thats it. Thank you for dropping by :)
