It was the end of the summer and my Erasmus project was at its end. We had gathered so much nice memories from Ilmenau. My colleague and I were already planning the route back to Bulgaria. He said:
Guess what, we can pass through a really nice road over the Fagaras mountains and you'll photograph everything and love it! (et.at Transfagarsan, Romania)
I tried to think this through and save us time and energy but I knew he had won me over with this beautiful place just by looking at the google images of it.
We were there and it was every bit as amazing as advertised ( TopGear loved it as well). We stopped, he got his bike out of my car and started his journey uphill. I got my camera ready and ... I saw this:
The serpentines of the road were unreal! people driving
motorcycles, fast cars, normal cars, trucks with caravans, bikes and whatsoever, it didn't really matter - everyone enjoyed it! It was at that moment that I realised I'm stopping at every turn to photograph and I should hurry to get to the top. I knew the top wasn't going to dissapoint me as well. But it did so much more. There, on the highest point of the road you can see one of the most beautiful lakes on Earth! A couple of guesthouses around it make it even more ...
well situated!
At this point I'm left with 20 photos. Turning around I see a house on a steep field and something strange over it. Looking closely I recognize it's a herd of sheep. I am left speechless once again.
This is why people travel! To find exactly places like these, which fill all their mental holes! This is how people fall inlove with their home - Earth!
Thanks for reading!
P.S I am also including some links to my videos from there, uploaded on Shutterstock. Share this place and hopefully - visit it!
