A Brief History of the Quba Mosque - Bebesen

Bebesen is a kejurun (region) that emerged after the Kingdom of Aceh set four kejurun in Gayo, namely Kejurun Bukit, Siah Utama, Linge and Gayo Lues, (Snouck Hurgronje, 1996: 107). It is narrated that the Karo Batak party 27 fought against Kejurun Bukit. Karo Batak side 27 won the victory, and after peace Kejurun Bukit was forced to move to Kampung Kebayakan. After Batak Karo 27 took control of Bebesen, Lebe Kader (leader of Batak Karo 27) as King Cik Bebesen was appointed. King Cik Bebesen did not get the official confirmation of the Sultan of Aceh, but he had ruled unhinderedly from the Sultan of Aceh. (H. M. Gayo, 1983: 51).
