I spent New Year's Eve in the beautiful town of Villa del Carbón, northwest of Mexico City in the state of Mexico . I really liked the town's distribution arround a central square, with most buildings and houses painted white and their roofs covered in clay tile. It looked a lot like Christmas village.
The town's name makes reference to the charcoal that its first people used to sell. Today the village's main income comes from tourism as well as from the sales of leather products. You can find high quality leather jackets at really low prices!
What I liked the most was the fact that the town is surrounded by an incredible pine forest and that you can rent a cabin in the woods.
I stayed with my family in a very comfy cabin near one of the many dams in the region.
And I have to say the view was really something else!
I hope you enjoy these photos. You should definetely visit if you can!
