Boracay is a beautiful island in the Philippines located in the Visayas, just a few minutes by boat ride from the main island Panay which is roughly about 45 minutes by plane from Manila. If you choose to land at Kalibo Airport, it'll take you another 2 hours travel by land before you get to the boat station that takes you to the island but you can choose to land in Caticlan which is at the tip of Panay Island, all you need is just a few minutes ride by tricycle (a motorcycle with a sidecar) going to the boats.
Through the years, Boracay has established itself as one of the best beach destinations in the world. Personally, I prefer Boracay back then when it was not that famous and only few people came to visit, but that was many years ago and the new Boracay has become more of a party place than a that of serenity that it used to be. But still, Boracay never fails to amaze it's visitors.
After many visits to the island, there came a time when I actually decided to live there which I did so from 2013-2014. I actually did it! I lived on the beach, played music, watched the waters, meet new people, eat fresh seafood, enjoy sea breeze and just live my dream. I'm back in the city now and missing those days.
Many say that Boracay offers one of the best sunsets in the world. I have witnessed many sunsets and yes, definitely I could say that Boracay sunsets are beautiful. In words, I describe it as somewhat similar to sunsets in children's books or neatly done coloring books. Unfortunately, I was not able to take pictures of the best sunsets I've seen on the island but reality is, pictures will never be enough to describe to actual feeling when you're there on the beach seeing the sun hit the waters by the horizon and an odd mixture of colors engulf the sky; it's surreal.
My good friend Ardie Lopez who's a professional photographer aside from many other things visited the island on one occasion, waited for the sunset and just took random shots. Here they are:
Just before and during sunset, people are lined up at the beach hoping to experience the spectacular view. A lot are ready with their cameras and phones while others just sit back and enjoy their drinks as they watch. Some even synchronize their wedding vows with sunset in Boracay. Our band actually performed for such an event one time and it was just magical.
These next pictures below were taken by me using just an old Samsung Note 2 mobile phone.
Sails hit the waters late afternoon and gets back at sundown.
Setting up my drumkit just during sunset in time for early live music while people are having dinner by the beach.
My good friend Andy from Hong Kong and China who came to visit us.

No offense to your buddy who is a photographer, but your pictures are as good as his in my opinion. His might be a little more dramatic with the clouds but that was just because of the day his shots were taken. Your shots shout out peacefulness and quiet, and those are two things I enjoy.
Sorry for scaring you the other day, just wanted to get your attention. I guess it worked.
Until next time,
