We regressed to being drunk beach bums after the day of being athletic cyclists riding 80 miles to get there.
9:00 AM
But the day started out walking half a mile from the hotel to the beach. Little did I know, this whole walking thing was going to be a common theme for the day.
Once we got there it was gorgeous! The soft sand packed like snow under your feet and if you kicked it, it blew away like a puff of white cocaine, enough to make Charlie Sheen excited.
10:00 AM
It was great relaxing there but then for some reason, we had the idea of walking 4 miles up the island to get to lunch.
Long walk but hot damn was it worth it.
We met some pretty dope locals along the way.
12:00 PM
Our target was the famous Old Salty Dog famous for their hot dogs
You can see why they're famous for their hot dogs
This is their Loaded Dog entree. It holds a fried hot dog, sauerkraut, mushrooms, onions, cheese, and bacon. I guess we're just on a mission to come out of this trip consuming more calories than we burned while riding.
1:00 PM
After obliterating our stomachs already an hour ago, the best course of action is to now consume as much alcoholic sugar as possible.
We had a few tall daiquiris each and had to stop before we felt sick.
3:30 PM
We made our way back over to the nearest beach and passed out in the theraputic sand for half an hour. Probably the best drunken nap on a beach I've ever had.
Then we started making the trek back to the beach closest to the hotel which meant another 4 mile walk.
5:30 PM
We made it to the beach in time to grab a six pack of semi-cold brews and catch the sunset.
8:00 PM
After some quick showers at the hotel, we ventured out to find some pizza that we were craving. We found Solorzano's which is conveniently right across the street from Munchies 420 Cafe.
The pizza was the greasy goodness we needed to lubricate our insides for the beer we were about to drink at 420 Cafe
Night #2 at 420 cafe was an interesting one between the open mic performers and the old guys near us tripping on acid.
Had a great time!
The whole time I was out I was totally ignoring the fact that I had to get up and ride my bike 60 miles the next day. But you gotta live in the moment and hell I was enjoying myself.
10:00 PM
We made the stumble back to the hotel after yet another fun night at 420 cafe. I made it a point to chug some water before I went to bed though so I wouldn't die on the 60 mile bike adventure the next day.
Shout out to Scott @adventureforme for all the pictures on this trip! He's a great photographer and he'll be talking about our trip from his point of view on his own blog. Be sure to follow him!
Cruise on steemdudes and the rest of this trip is coming to you later 😎 ✌🏽
I totally forgot about the semi-cold brews on the beach! 😂 That was one heck of a day. I still have marks on my feet from walking that much in sandals.
