So Creepy, So Surreal
This was just a quick stop along our route, but so worth it! The clouds and lighting gave a perfect spooky feel to this (definitely haunted) abandoned state psychiatric hospital. Ink even provided some great "old ghost dog" modeling.
About the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum:
The super creepy, Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum, subsequently the Weston State Psychiatric Hospital, operated from 1864 until 1994 in the city of Weston, WV. Originally designed to hold 250 people, it became overcrowded in the 1950s with 2,400 patients. It was forcibly closed in 1994 due to changes in treatments of patients. The hospital's main building is one of the largest hand-cut stone masonry buildings in the United States, and, is the second largest hand-cut sandstone building in the World. Being a reportedly haunted location, the asylum was featured on various paranormal television programs.

That's creepy! I would love to see the inside of that place. Maybe someone will be brave enough to venture into there.
