Hello Steemers!
Your resident traveler was added once again over the weekend. I can't sit still, and I always have to discover something new in my area. Imagine my shock when I found out that only 1.5 hours away existed a full-size replica of the Stonehenge. I had to see this for myself, as I'm not sure if there will ever be a chance that I will see the actual Stonehenge in real life. This traveler hope so, but as for right now that seems like a pipe dream.
We hop in a car, which takes us to a small city called Goldendale, In Washington State. Back in the early 1900s, a settler came to the area and built the full-size replica of Stonehenge in Memorial of some World War 1 veterans. We really enjoyed getting to discover more of the area, along with seeing what the Stonehenge would look like if it were in the United States.
Across from Stonehenge were grassy Hills that were dotted with windmills used for wind electricity. This is something that I am not used to seeing from my native state of Florida. This always amazes me when I get to see them.
Out in the distance you can see Mount Hood as a backdrop for the beautiful Stonehenge site.
Thank you for enjoying another Wanderlust Weeknd with me, and discovering what the Pacific Northwest has to offer! Where will I be this weekend? Follow to find out! (Promising cute pictures! )
