Three Chinese Girls.
Malaysia is a melting pot of cultures, traditions and races. The slogan ”Malaysia Truly Asia” means exactly that. This mural is a depiction of the three girls from Malaysia’s major races (Chinese, Indian and Malay) donned in Chinese traditional costumes. Showcasing Malaysians of different cultures and religions living in harmony, all having contributed greatly to Malaya’s independence in 1957.
🎨 ‘Three Chinese Girls’ is the work of local Penang artist, Yeap Cheng Ewe. Inspired by Chinese origami, this talented lady’s sculpt-art style produces gorgeous pieces of 3D art.
The Real Bruce Lee...
🎨 “The Real Bruce Lee Would Never Do This”, is the title of this piece by a group of artists behind the 101 Lost Kittens project - in efforts to raise awareness against violence and neglect of strays. There are 101 paintings of cats all over Georgetown, which is a fun treasure hunt if you have the day to spare!
-Don’t forget to keep count.
Artists for Stray Animals (ASA) “are passionate artists with the mindset of using art as medium to spread the word for stray animals”. Here is a video of their ‘Band of Doodlers’ at ChinaHouse a couple years ago.
